UNC Finley is one of the premier college facilities in the nation. Traditionally
recognized as one of the most beautiful courses in the southeast, Finley
just received a facelift that makes it one of the most challenging as well.
In 1999, internationally renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio designed
the New Finley Golf Course. It features a completely different layout, yet
some of the best aspects of the old course were retained.
The new course features a par 72 layout with five sets of tees ranging from
4,981 yards from the forward tees to 7,187 yards from the championship markers,
thus presenting a stiff challenge to the best golfers while still remaining
accessible to those of all skill levels. Tees, greens and fairways were
built and planted to the highest standard, while a state of the art irrigation
system and exceptional drainage maintains the quality of the course.
